MTPL – CORPORATE TOURNAMENT 2024 (SEASON 1)

Dear Team ,

  • Tournament Commencement:
    The Corporate Teams Tournament will commence on 6th September 2024.
  • Team Division:
    Teams will be divided into 4 groups, with each group consisting of 4 teams. Each group will play using a round-robin format.
  • Scoring System:
    Winning teams will earn 2 points per match. The top two teams from each group, based on points and net run rate (NRR), will advance to the Quarter Finals.
  • Team Composition:
    • > Each team will consist of 18 players (11 playing and 7 substitutes).
    • > Teams must submit the names of all 18 players excluding Team Manager and Co-ordinator at the time of registration.
    • > Players can be from any nationalities.
    • > Players must hold Oman resident cards issued under the same corporate company or same group of company.
    • > Players affiliated with subcontractors, partnerships, or joint ventures are not allowed to participate.
    • > Visit visa players are not allowed.
    • > Players’ Civil ID or Resident Card is mandatory for registration.
    • > Players must carry their original resident card on the day of their scheduled match.
    • > For any replacement in the squad, Valid documents proof for illness, injury or cancellation of visa must be submitted. However, players cannot be added during the knockout stages for any reason, even if justified.
  • Uniform:
    • > MTPL will provide jerseys for each team under certain conditions. Players must wear the MTPL-issued uniform; those without it will not be allowed to play.
    • > The jersey number provided by teams at the time of player registration is compulsory and must be displayed on the back of the jersey(Unique number).
  • Match Reporting:
    • > All teams must report to their respective grounds 15 minutes before their scheduled match.
    • > The toss will be conducted 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the match.
    • > A minimum of 11 players must be present at the time of the toss. If 11 players are not physically present, a walkover will be awarded to the opponents without further discussion.
  • Ball Type:
    The tournament will be played with Tennex balls provided by MTPL.
  • Match Format:
    • > Every match is 16 overs. Every 4 overs, the batting end will be changed.
    • > Match duration is 160 minutes, including a 10-minute interval for changing innings.
    • > There is a 2.5-minute drinks break in each innings after the completion of the 8th over.
    • > The first 4 overs are a power play, with a maximum of 3 fielders outside the circle.
    • > After the power play, a maximum of 5 fielders is allowed outside the circle.
    • > A minimum of 5 bowlers must be used, with only one bowler allowed a maximum of 4 overs.
  • Bowling Rules:
    • > One bouncer per over is allowed. All subsequent bouncers in the same over will be called a no-ball.
    • > A ball bouncing over the striker's head height will be called a wide.
    • >The Mankad rule is in place, and the decision made by the main umpire is final.
  • Cricket Laws:
    • All laws of cricket will apply except for the following:
      • > LBW will not apply.
      • > Free hit law will not apply.
      • > Runners for batsmen are not allowed for any reason.
      • > There is no "retired hurt," only "retired out."
      • > No warning is needed for a no-ball if fewer than 4 fielders are inside the circle.
  • League Matches Schedule:
    • > Matches will be scheduled in two sessions: Morning and Evening, depending on ground availability. The schedule will be confirmed in advance.
    • > League matches will be conducted only on friday.
    • > Knockout matches will be conducted on friday/saturday.
    • > Runners for batsmen are not allowed for any reason.
    • > There is no "retired hurt," only "retired out."
    • > No warning is needed for a no-ball if fewer than 4 fielders are inside the circle.
  • Player Replacement:
    • > Visa Cancellation:ROP visa cancellation paper is required.
    • > Major Physical Injury: A medical certificate from an approved medical examiner must be provided.
    • > Once a player is replaced, they will not be allowed to participate in the tournament further.
  • Scorers:
    One person from each team is required to be present with the scorers during the match to assist with player details.
  • Umpires’ Decision:
    The umpires’ decision is final, and all teams must abide by it.
  • Tie-Breaking:
    In the event of a tie, the result will be determined by a Super Over until a result is achieved.
  • Venues:
    • > Initial league matches will be played at Al Hail Grass/OCC Municipality Ground.
    • > Knockout and semi-final matches will be held at OCC or Al Hail Turf Ground based on availability.
    • > The final will take place at OCC Turf Ground, with the date to be announced based on availability.
  • Registration Fee:
    175 OMR for registration which includes team jersey (20 sets).
  • Scoring:
    Scores can be entered into the CricHeroes app, and summaries will be reflected on the MTPL official website.
  • Captain's Responsibility:
    All team captains are requested to thoroughly review these rules and carry a copy with them to avoid any misunderstandings or loss of time during the match.
  • Disputes:
    In case of disputes, the decision of the Tournament Coordinators will be final and binding to all teams.
  • Liability:
    MTPL will not be liable for any injuries caused to players or spectators during the tournament.
  • Action Against Indisciplinary Behavior:
    • > All Players are expected and implied to follow strict discipline throughout the tournament ON and OFF the field. No players or any member of the team should make any negative remark on their player, opposite team players or officials.
    • > Physical contact ON and OFF the field Team will be immediately disqualified.
  • Water Supply:
    One box of water (30 bottles x 250ml) will be provided to each team before the start of the match.

MTPL – TOURNAMENT 2025 (SEASON 2)

Dear Team ,

  • Tournament Commencement
    • The tournament will commence on 17th January 2025.
  • Team Division
    • Teams (20) will be divided into two groups, with each group consisting of 10 teams.
    • Matches within each group will follow a round-robin format.
  • Scoring System
    • Winning teams will earn 2 points per match.
    • The top four (4) teams from each group, based on points and Net Run Rate (NRR), will advance to the Quarter Finals.
  • Team Composition
    • Each team will consist of 18 players (11 playing and 7 substitutes).
    • Teams must submit the names of all 18 players at the time of registration.
    • Eligibility Criteria:
      • All players must belong to the Tamil nadu (State) and hold Indian nationality, necessary proof (PP/DL/Aadhar) must be submitted for verification
      • Players must have valid Oman resident cards issued by ROP-Oman.
      • Visit visa players are not allowed under any circumstances.
      • Players must carry their original resident cards on the day of their scheduled match.
    • Premier Divisional Players:
      • A maximum of two players from the Premier Division or higher (Tamil players in Oman) are permitted in the playing XI for any match.
    • Player Replacements:
      • Replacement requests will be allowed only under valid conditions, such as serious illness, serious injury, or visa cancellation, with proper documentation.
      • No player replacements will be allowed during the knockout stages for any reason.
  • Uniform
    • Players must wear the proper team uniform in all matches.
    • Jerseys must display a unique number on the back as submitted during registration.
    • Players without proper uniforms will not be allowed to play.
  • Match Reporting
    • Reporting Time: All teams must report to their respective grounds 15 minutes before the scheduled start of their match.
    • Toss Timing: The toss will take place 5 minutes prior to the scheduled match start.
    • Player Requirement:
      • A minimum of 11 players must be present for the toss.
      • If a team has fewer than 11 players, the following penalties apply:
        • 1 over will be deducted for every 10 minutes of delay, starting from the scheduled match time.
        • The delay is allowed for a maximum of 1 hour.
        • After 1 hour, a walkover will be awarded to the opposing team.
  • Ball Type
    • The tournament will be played with a Tennex ball.
    • Teams must bring their own tennex ball and present the ball for verification before the match.
  • Match Format
    • Each match will consist of 16 overs.
    • Powerplay: The first 4 overs will allow a maximum of 3 fielders outside the circle.
    • After the powerplay, a maximum of 5 fielders are allowed outside the circle.
    • A minimum of 5 bowlers must be used, with no bowler allowed to bowl more than 4 overs.
  • Bowling Rules
    • 1 bouncer per over is allowed; subsequent bouncers will be called a no-ball.
    • A ball bouncing above the striker's head will be called a wide.
    • The Mankad rule is in place, and the decision made by the main umpire is final.
  • Cricket Laws
    • All standard cricket laws will apply, except for the following:
      • No LBW.
      • No free hit.
      • No runners for batsmen under any circumstances.
      • No retired hurt, only "retired out" will apply.
      • A no-ball for fewer than 4 fielders inside the circle requires no warning.
      • ⁠Main Umpire must not be from same team.
  • League Matches Schedule
    • Matches will be conducted in two sessions:
      • Morning: 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 9:40 AM to 11:50 AM.
    • League matches will be held only on Fridays.
    • Knockout matches will be conducted on Fridays/Saturdays.
  • Player Replacement Rules
    • Visa Cancellation: ROP visa cancellation papers must be submitted.
    • Major Physical Injury: A valid medical certificate from an approved medical examiner is required.
    • Once replaced, players are not allowed to participate further in the tournament.
    • Teams must re-register players if they wish to swap a player with someone from any other team player that participated in MTPL Season-1, ensuring that proper adjustments are submitted to the Tournament Committee during registration.
  • Scorers
    • Each team must assign one person to assist the scorers with player details during the match.
  • Umpires’ Decision
    • The umpire's decision is final, and all teams must abide by it.
    • Each team must provide two persons to assist with umpiring duties.
  • Tie-Breaking
    • In the event of a tie, a Super Over will determine the winner.
  • Venues
    • League Matches: Golden Tulip Ground (Concrete pitches).
    • Knockout & Semi-Final Matches: OCC or Al Hail Turf Ground (based on availability).
    • Final Match: OCC Turf Ground (date to be announced based on availability).
  • Registration Fee
    • No registration fees will be charged. However, contributions from individuals or teams are welcome.
  • Scoring
    • Match scores will be updated on the CricHeroes app and reflected on the MTPL official website.
  • Captain’s Responsibility
    • Team captains must thoroughly review these rules and carry a copy to avoid any disputes or delays during matches.
  • Disputes
    • In case of disputes, the decision of the Tournament Coordinators will be final and binding.
  • Liability
    • MTPL will not be held responsible for any injuries to players or spectators during the tournament.
  • Action Against Indisciplinary Behavior
    • Players must maintain strict discipline on and off the field.
    • Negative remarks about players, opponents, or officials are prohibited.
    • Physical altercations will result in immediate disqualification of the team.

MTPL – WOMEN’s TOURNAMENT 2024 (SEASON 1)

Dear Team ,

  • Tournament Commencement:
    The Women’s Teams Tournament will commence on 8th November 2024.
  • Team Division:
    Teams will be divided into two groups, with each group consisting of three teams.
  • Scoring System:
    Winning teams will earn 2 points per match. The top team, based on points and net run rate (NRR), will qualify directly for the final as the first team. The second team will be determined through an additional match between the teams ranked 2nd and 3rd in the league stage.
  • Team Composition:
    • > Each team will consist of 15 players (11 playing and 4 substitutes).
    • > Teams must submit the names of all 15 players, excluding the Team Manager and Coordinator, at the time of registration.
    • > Players can be of any nationality.
    • > At least one child and a maximum of two children must be included in the playing eleven.
    • > Players on visit visas are not permitted to participate.
  • Uniform:
    Players must wear a proper uniform jersey set, sports shoes, or running shoes during matches. Rubber studs, spikes, heels, and sandals are strictly prohibited.
  • Match Reporting:
    • > All teams must report to their respective grounds 15 minutes before the scheduled start of their match.
    • > The toss will be conducted 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the match.
    • > Teams must have a minimum of 9 players to start the match, which will be played with 11 players on each side. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a walkover for the opposing team.
  • Ball Type:
    The tournament will be played with Tennex balls provided by MTPL.
  • Match Format:
    • > All league and final matches will consist of 8 overs per innings.
    • > A minimum of 4 bowlers must be used, with each bowler allowed a maximum of 2 overs.
    • > Wide and no-ball deliveries will be considered legal, awarding 2 runs to the batting team. This rule does not apply to the last ball of the every over. The last ball of every over must be legal ball
    • > Each innings will start with a new ball. If a ball is lost or broken in the first over, a new ball will be issued. If lost after the first over, an old ball will be used.
  • Match Duration:
    Each innings must be completed in 30 minutes, with a 5-minute innings break. The total match duration is 65 minutes.
  • Bowling Rules:
    • > One bouncer per over is allowed. All subsequent bouncers in the same over will be called a no-ball.
    • > A ball bouncing above the striker's head height will be called a wide.
  • Cricket Laws:
    The standard laws of cricket will apply, except for the following exceptions:
    • > LBW will not be applicable.
    • > The free-hit rule will not apply.
    • > Runners for batsmen are not allowed under any circumstances.
    • > There is no "retired hurt," only "retired out."
  • League Matches Schedule:
    • > Matches will be scheduled in the evening, depending on ground availability. The schedule will be confirmed in advance.
    • > League matches will only be held on Fridays/Saturdays.
    • > Final will be conducted based on ground availability on weekdays/weekend.
  • Player Replacement:
    • Visa Cancellation: Visa cancellation documentation is required.
    • Major Physical Injury: A medical certificate from an approved medical examiner must be provided. Once a player is replaced, they will not be allowed to participate further in the tournament.
  • Umpires' Decision:
    The umpires’ decision is final, and all teams must abide by it.
  • Tie-Breaking:
    In the event of a tie, the result will be decided by a Super Over until a winner is determined.
    • Super Over Rules: The team batting second in the match will bat first in the Super Over.
  • Venues:
    • > Initial league matches will be played at the Al Hail Grass Ground.
    • > Final matches will be held at either Al Hail Grass Ground or OCC Ground, depending on availability.
  • Registration Fee:
    There is no registration fee. However, teams and players are welcome to contribute towards the awards, and any contributions can be made directly on the day of the final ceremony.
  • Scoring:
    • A) Scores can be entered into the CricHeroes app, and summaries will be reflected on the MTPL official website.
    • B) Each team must provide one person to assist the scorers during the match with player details.
  • Captain's Responsibility:
    All team captains are requested to thoroughly review these rules and keep a copy with them to avoid any misunderstandings or loss of time during the match.
  • Disputes:
    In case of disputes, the decision of the Tournament Coordinators will be final and binding on all teams.
  • Liability:
    MTPL will not be liable for any injuries sustained by players or spectators during the tournament.
  • Action Against Indisciplinary Behavior:
    • > All players are expected to maintain strict discipline throughout the tournament, both on and off the field.
    • > Persistent arguments by a team may result in a walkover being awarded to the opposition, as determined by the umpires and organizers.
    • > Any team that leaves the ground in protest during play will be disqualified from the tournament.
    • > If any team misbehaves or abuses the umpires on or off the field during the match, they will be disqualified from the tournament.
